Job Description
PwC established New Ventures to invest in new business models that leverage our knowledge and build solutions for the growing digital market.

New Ventures identifies, develops, and commercializes technology-enabled solutions that deliver PwC value, knowledge, and experience to our clients. Each new solution focuses on data-driven platforms or other IP-based solutions that leverage emerging technologies and new business models. Through the process of building new solutions, we foster a culture of innovation within the Firm, extend brand relevance in the market, and generate new revenue.

The Incubator at PwC is a global organization dedicated to developing innovative businesses and new ventures targeted at new market opportunities. Each new business initiative is structured like a start-up company, consisting of a small team of individuals responsible for all aspects of the venture/business, from strategic planning to tactical implementation. Where possible, the Incubator team identifies and leverages resources and technologies already available within PwC's expansive global infrastructure. However, independent of the source, the new venture teams must be self-sufficient, since an initiative's success is measured solely by the achievement of defined performance goals within aggressively-defined timelines.

Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 8 with a significant focus on Innovation.

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree

Degree Preferred: Master's degree in Instructional Design or other advanced degree in Business or a technical discipline.

Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates thought leader-level knowledge with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts In the following areas:

- Understanding of Silicon Valley industry leading practices, including design thinking, lean startup, agile design, and minimum viable product among others;

- Demonstrating bilingual skills between Silicon Valley and the Global 1000;

- Leveraging Emerging technologies knowledge;

- Leveraging the domain of entrepreneurship/new venture creation;

- Operating at senior levels in industry;

- Envisioning and bringing new products to market as an innovator;

- Overseeing incubation, assessing customer desirability, understanding product/service feasibility and determining business viability;

- Learning on a continuous basis and constantly staying abreast of current trends and technologies;

- Selecting new business incubation management to launch, running new business opportunities and mentoring them to successfully launch and scale, and structured thinking;

- Demonstrating unique blending of imagination and creativity combined with business and technical savvy;

- Leveraging overall vision and driving to proactively make strategic visions a reality, yet concrete enough to define crisp value proposition for customers and executing plans for the organization; and,

- Thinking creatively about execution strategies including: build, buy, partner, and invest, establishing new venture success.

Skills Preferred:

Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in innovation, entrepreneurship, and venture creation, emphasizing the following areas:

- Providing the strategic vision to identify new areas of business opportunity and managing a pipeline and portfolio of new ventures;

- Engaging with existing and potential customers to understand pain and opportunity and translating that understanding into scalable solutions;

- Working closely with various internal stakeholders to launch a portfolio of compelling new adjacent market initiatives;

- Building a high performing Incubator core team, including both internal and external cross-functional talent globally;

- Leading, motivating, and developing a core team, including: hiring, mentoring, performance management and career planning;

- Providing planning, management, and oversight for an Incubator organization;

- Delivering new business building efforts on time and within budget;

- Working closely with Product, Sales, and Marketing teams;

- Engaging with existing and potential customers directly to understand pain and need;

- Implementing scalable and standardized delivery approaches to innovation with a special emphasis on digital transformation;

- Building and maintaining relationships across all levels with emphasis on managing through a matrixed organization;

- Leading and influencing cross-functional teams across organizational boundaries and silos;

- Storytelling skills (written, visual, and oral) that capture and maintain attention and interest for both technical and non-technical audiences;

- Staying current on new/interesting communication techniques to engage an audience regardless of size;

- Imagining new venture risk (technical, financial, market, and execution) and designing experiments to eliminate/mitigate the risks;

- Working successfully with small, unstructured teams and across all levels of an organization; and,

- Being a confident self-starter comfortable with uncertainty and able to work well in changing environments.
