PwC's Business Advisory Services group is a distinctive practice that provides audit, technical accounting, tax, regulatory, compliance, valuation services, risk management, financial analysis and cashflow modeling, outsourcing, securities processing, payments, information risk and security, data quality, mergers and acquisitions, and other services. PwC's Financial Instruments, Structured Products and Real Estate Group (Financial Markets) practice, is a global team comprised of financial products experts on virtually all asset classes (including Residential and Commercial Mortgages, Auto Loans and Leases, Credit Cards, Student Loans, Derivatives, Commercial Loans and Bonds, Debt and Equity Securities, etc.).

The team specializes in providing services along the full life cycle of a product, around model governance and validation, accounting advisory, end-to-end transaction support and valuation, business processes and controls, tax and treasury, and capital funding strategies, all as they relate to financial instruments, structured products, and real estate.

The FM practice helps clients achieve success in the capital markets. From navigating complex transactions in new and established products, to treating regulation not simply as a compliance exercise, but as a catalyst for innovation; FM’s deep product knowledge and industry insight helps clients future proof their organizations and to seize the opportunities in the market.

Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 4


Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business related field.


Certification(s) Required: Ability and willingness to adhere to credentialing standards of the Financial Instruments, Structured Products and Real Estate (FSR)
- team and PwC. This includes the completion of 4 parts of the CPA exam or

CFA Level 1.


Degree Preferred: MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Financial Engineering or other business related field.


Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates a thorough level of knowledge and/or proven record of success in financial issues, capital markets and product life cycle, preferably for a global network of professional services firms, including in the following areas:

- Understanding of financial products and issues that both issuers and investors face as markets evolve over time;
- Applying accounting, tax and regulatory standards to complex financial instruments;
- Assisting clients with their understanding of complex financial structures prior to the issuance of securitizations and assisting related parties (underwriters, attorneys, etc.) with verifying that disclosures align with the underwriter’s intent of the security structure;
- Performing valuation analysis of financial instruments and structured products;
- Assessing the reasonableness of valuations and financial models prepared by others;
- Creating independent financial models to project collateral and bond cash-flows for various debt types and related securitizations; including asset backed securities, mortgage backed securities, and collateralized loan obligations; and,
- Understanding of financial instruments, such as derivatives and fixed income products, that are utilized within real estate finance, consumer finance, or corporate finance and valuation techniques that are utilized for financial products.


Skills Preferred:

Demonstrates a thorough level of ability and/or proven record of success in financial issues, capital markets and product life cycles, preferably for a global network of professional services firms, including in the following areas:

- Utilizing problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks;
- Researching and analyzing pertinent client, industry, and financial matters; while demonstrating strong technical and analytical skills;
- Being agile and flexible when adapting to changing client needs and market conditions;
- Developing, utilizing or reviewing/validating complex financial models;
- Utilizing industry software, e.g. INTEX, TREPP, Bloomberg, CapIQ, or, advanced Excel modeling;
- Applying accounting treatments of financial products and securitizations held by financial institutions;
- Communicating cogently, both written and verbally, within a professional services business environment;
- Working as both an individual contributor and team member, identifying and addressing client needs: actively participating in client discussions and meetings; communicating a broad range of firm services; and,
- Managing engagements, including preparing concise, accurate documents and maintaining project economics while maintaining flexibility for unanticipated issues.
