Job Description
PwC's Marketing and Sales function is a client-focused, high-performing team, which is strategically aligned to the Firm's priorities and passionately focused on positioning a distinctive PwC brand in the marketplace and driving long-term revenue growth for the Firm.

The PR and Social Media team is responsible for the Firm's external media relations and social media strategy, including the overseeing and management of PwC's social media accounts, relationships with media nationally and locally, and ongoing identification of new and emerging opportunities to enhance the Firm's visibility. The team focuses on protecting the PwC brand and positively positioning the US Firm and its spokespeople externally, primarily through media and social media.

Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 12 years of progressive leadership roles involving external media relations and social media strategy


Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or GED


Degree Preferred: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree


Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrate industry leader knowledge and understanding of PR and media strategies at a national and global level, and has significant experience managing others to accomplish key objectives, including:

Significant crisis communications experience, including managing reputational risk with the expertise to advise, negotiate and persuade the highest level leadership across a large firm on how best to respond to adverse public scrutiny or the potential for the same. Working with the media directly to help reporters and editors understand facts, context, and its client’s narrative and messages;

Influencing how PR strategies across business lines align with individual businesses, helping leaders secure clients and position themselves as thought leaders in their areas of expertise, and how the PR strategies collectively contribute to the overall public perception.

Collaborating with US and global entities, keeping up to date on US/global PR strategies and initiatives, bringing them to fruition. Collaboration with global firm counterparts to help each firm’s PR strategies complement one another and do not conflict;

Understanding and driving digital marketing techniques, marketing trends and industry-leading practices, with a focus on integrated marketing strategy including the development of media and campaign strategies for the Firm’s lines of business focused on business objectives, working with spokespeople on media interviews, leveraging industry events, and responding to unsolicited media requests;

Maximizing the use of new media platforms including social media outlets such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook. Skilled proficiency with social media platforms & databases (Gorkana, Meltwater), tracking software (Google News, Dow Jones News Retrieval/Factiva), & other interactive platforms (YouTube, Google +).


Skills Preferred:

Demonstrates proven abilities as a thought leader, directing and leading teams and being a strategic business partner with emphasis on the following:

Being a strategic business partner with leadership to understand and accept PR as a powerful and crucial business tool;

Managing Crisis Communications for a fortune 100 firm;

Maintaining significant media contacts at the local and national levels, and

identifying and seeking out additional reporter contacts valuable to the Firm, developing them across traditional media (including top-tier print and broadcast as well as service, industry and/or geographic trade publications) and new media platforms (including social media outlets (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook);

Building and maintaining relationships with highest levels of leadership, including effectively managing through a matrixed organization;

Being regarded as an excellent verbal communicator, writer, and strategist, including writing skills in order to translate complex concepts into easy to understand and compelling messaging;

Leading and managing PR teams, emphasizing successful design and execution of PR strategies, and a drive to develop the person’s management and substantive skills;

Leading, managing, coaching and inspiring a team of 25

people or more and developing PR staff at all levels;

Managing on-going PR strategy and driving change by collaborating with other Marketing & Sales professionals;

Overseeing and managing budgets up to and including $5M, supervising and approving all external spending projects, guiding the use of outside PR agencies, contractors and sponsorships as well as maintaining relationships with service providers; and

Leading and driving project management including managing multiple PR initiatives at the same time, execution and influencing skills.
