Insourced Solutions for Tax (IST) positions at PwC are at the forefront of the tax profession
- creating a distinctive new approach to providing tax managed services. The IST State and Local Tax (SALT) practice is dedicated to helping its clients assess their state and local tax burden by recommending solutions that support their overall business objectives and provide support so that their filling positions are consistent with good business practices and with the states' applicable tax laws and rules. Our practice is structured as a true network of well respected state and local tax professionals, including many former key state officials.

Insourced Solutions for Tax (IST) property tax is dedicated to providing an environment of an in-house tax department.

Our emphasis is on operational excellence in providing compliance and reporting, asset valuation, assessment review, appeals, audit support, and property tax planning. IST property tax has extensive experience in multiple industries, including oil and gas, power, renewables, aviation, transportation, and investment real estate.

Whether a company is seeking an entire outsource strategy, has complex valuation and asset utilization issues, or is looking to maximize property tax incentives, IST property tax has the experience to meet an organization's property tax needs.

Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 3

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a business related field.

Certification(s) Preferred: One of the following:

CPA, Member of the Bar, Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (CMI), Member of Appraisal Institute (MAI), Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), Senior Real Property Appraiser (SRPA), State Certified Appraiser, Professional Estimator, or Senior Property Tax Consultant License.

Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates thorough knowledge and/or a proven record of success in property tax, preferably in the oil & gas industries, including the following areas:

- Manage complex property tax matters coordinating appraisal, legal, government affairs and community relations;

- Research and evaluate state statutes, abatements, regulations, case law and local practice;

- Conduct real and personal property tax asset and assessment reviews

- Research and demonstrate an aptitude for analyzing market information

- Develop real estate and personal property valuation opinions consistent with state statutes and USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) establishing equitable tax assessments;

- Present valuation positions and negotiate effectively with assessors, taxing jurisdiction leaders and economic development groups;

- Collect and analyze large and complex data sets;

- Analyze and process financial system data using analytic and business intelligence tools; and,

- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.

Skills Preferred:

Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success

in the following areas:

- Utilizing and applying technical skills including Alteryx, Tableau and MS Excel into projects;

- Investigating and solving complex computer and data-related problems;

- Identifying and addressing client needs by actively participating in client discussions and meetings; communicating a broad range of Firm services; managing engagements including preparing concise, accurate documents and balancing project economics management with the occurrence of unanticipated issues; and,

- Creating a positive environment by monitoring workloads of the team while meeting client expectations and respecting the work-life quality of team members; providing candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manner; and keeping leadership informed of progress and issues
