Members of the GRC team help clients assess, design and develop solutions that allow them to manage diverse risks through a consistent, coordinated, and sustainable strategy. PwC's approach is a principles-guided, scalable method that integrates governance, risk and compliance activities into a manageable and sustainable process. GRC services include:
- Identifying risks through a practical but comprehensive evaluation process
- Improving the content, quality and timing of governance, risk and compliance analysis and reporting
- Implementing a proactive approach to risk management
- Controlling the growth of governance, risk and compliance-related expenses
- Establishing a timely and consistent approach to assess and improve compliance programs across business units
- Establishing an enterprise-wide view of gaps and improve risk response strategies
- Streamlining compliance programs across the enterprise to gain efficiencies and improve effectiveness
- Establishing consistent policies and standards across the enterprise to enforce ownership and accountability
- Leveraging technology to aggregate controls, risk and compliance information to rapidly identify and report exceptions, as well as improve information quality
- Assessing and recommend Risk Management, Internal Audit, or Compliance strategies, policies and governance
- Conducting Operational Risk Assessments and Compliance Reviews
- Conducting ERM assessments and risk universe identification
- Conducting business unit self assessments and reporting package development
- Providing strategy and consulting for NAIC, FDIC, FSA, and other regulatory compliance, etc
- Assisting with emerging risks, supply chain risks, collaboration risks, financial risks, outsourcing risks, etc.
- Demonstrates a proven record of success utilizing extensive Operational Risk and ERM knowledge to assist businesses with the assessment and improvement of their risk management processes and program.
- Demonstrates a proven record of success utilizing extensive regulatory compliance knowledge to assist businesses with understanding regulatory compliance requirements, and developing solutions to meet these requirements.
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of strategy, operations and management in a number of functional areas of a corporation in order to have a broad understanding of risk and compliance management.
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of the common risk management issues facing clients who provide products and services in several sectors that include, but are not limited to Financial Services, Manufacturing, Retail, Media and Entertainment, Utilities, Healthcare, Pharma, Technology and Energy.
Obtained one or more of the following certifications and/or relevant advanced degrees:
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA),
- RIMS Certificate,
- ISACA Certified in Risk and Information Security Management (CRISM),
- Risk Management Association Credit Risk certification,
- CCEP (Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional),
- CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional),
- CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance), or
- Other applicable risk management certification preferred.
Skills Preferred:
- Demonstrates extensive abilities to utilize industry standards and best practices to assess, advise, design, and/or recommend complex, enterprise-wide, regulatory compliance, risk management, and/or internal audit organization structures, policies and procedures, methodologies, toolkits, and templates.
- Demonstrates extensive abilities to perform the following as it relates to Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance strategy, organization, policy and governance: program evaluation, risk assessment, controls identification and testing, state/federal regulatory audits, industry specific regulatory compliance (e.g., Solvency II, Basel II, Dodd-Frank, FDIC, NAIC, etc.), Sarbanes-Oxley, Model Audit Rule, Internal Audit, and/or Risk Management.
- Demonstrates extensive proven abilities to identify and address client needs: actively participating in client discussions and meetings; communicating a broad range of Firm services; managing engagements including preparing concise, accurate documents and balancing project economics management with the occurrence of unanticipated issues.
- Demonstrates extensive proven abilities as a team member: creating a positive environment by monitoring workloads of the team while meeting client expectations and respecting the work-life quality of team members; providing candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manner; and keeping leadership informed of progress and issues.
