As a member of the Systems and Process Assurance team, you will provide services related to controls around the financial reporting process, including business process and IT management controls. Our team members provide multiple services:
• Financial and operation applications controls reviews
• Business process controls reviews
• Database security controls reviews
• IT general controls reviews
• Third party assurance and other opinion services
• Sarbanes-Oxley readiness and controls optimization services
• Pre- and post-implementation assurance reviews
• Project assurance services
• IT security & governance reviews

Key issues we help our clients address are:
• Assisting our clients to optimize their risk and internal control activities, including SOX readiness/optimization activities
• Ensuring IT is aligned to organizational strategy, responsive to a changing business climate, with clearly defined policies and procedures
• Enhancing the process of developing robust controls around pre- and post-implementation system reviews through a clearly defined project management methodology
• Performing third party and other opinion-level services in response to service organization requests from customers for information about internal controls
• We assist ERP clients to optimize and sustain a "real-time" controls environment at an enterprise level

Our Banking and Capital Markets clients demand a deep knowledge of their industry and business processes, the Banking Industry practice is organized within our Financial Services practice to fully leverage our global team of over 33,000 professionals who serve virtually every segment of the industry – consumer/retail banking, commercial banking, wholesale banking, mortgage banking, securitization, capital markets, insurance, investment management, broker/dealer and real estate. As these sectors continue to converge and consolidate, our integrated knowledge will enable us to design and implement cost-effective, multidisciplinary solutions to meet the challenges and opportunities facing our clients.

PwC banking professionals have focused skills in key areas to effectively serve our clients with their most critical challenges, including:
• Anti-money laundering
• Mergers & Acquisitions
• Sarbanes-Oxley
• Risk management
• Securitizations
• Regulatory


Knowledge Preferred:

Working knowledge of information technology general controls concepts in the areas of systems development, change management, computer operations and access to programs and data. Proficient understanding of industry products (e.g., equities, options, futures, loans, bonds) and processes (e.g., pre and post-trade processing, mortgage processing) in banking and capital markets sectors.

Proficient understanding of security and control for some of the following technologies and/or enterprise applications: UNIX, Windows, NT, mainframe, AS400, SAP, PeopleSoft, J.D. Edwards, Oracle Financials, Oracle Financial databases, networks etc.

CPA or CISA exam must be passed; licensure preferred

Skills Preferred:

Some experience appropriately applying internal control principles and business/technical knowledge including Application Controls and IT General Controls; financial reporting concepts; some working experience applying professional skepticism skills

Demonstrated experience as a team leader: creating a positive environment by monitoring workloads of the team while meeting client expectations and respecting the work-life quality of team members; providing candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manner; keeping leadership informed of progress and issues

BA or BS in Accounting or Management Information Systems or business related field (provided that the candidate has demonstrated the required minimum number of hours for CPA and/or CISA licensure per respective state regulations)

CPA or CISA exam must be passed for promotion to senior associate, licensure preferred
