The Public Sector practice of PwC is a fast growing, focused organization that is a trusted advisor providing business advisory and assurance services to the Federal Government. We are engaged in some of the Government’s most difficult challenges.

We are at work with every cabinet agency providing project management, business and financial planning for the Department of Defense, advising on data security, threat and vulnerability management for the Department of Homeland Security, and consulting on human capital and succession issues for the Internal Revenue Service.

PwC delivers premier management consulting services to the Federal Government using what we term the Auditors’ Lens™ to enable government agencies, their key programs and their leadership to achieve transparency, accountability and operational effectiveness.

We provide Program Effectiveness solutions in four primary areas:
Enterprise Portfolio Management - Execution of strategic, transformational initiatives; cross-functional business process redesign
Business / IT Program Management - Development of business case and value proposition, program management, monitoring, assessment / evaluation
Event Driven Crisis Management - Incident/event response (Rapid Mobilization), stakeholder alignment / communication, impact assessment/analysis
End to End Program Delivery - Strategy, governance, design, mobilization, management, delivery, assessment and remediation


Knowledge Preferred:

Considerable knowledge and experience in a Project Management Office for large programs in the federal government environment.

Considerable knowledge in one more of the following specialty areas: earned value management systems, governance, planning and controls, performance measurement and reporting, communications and stakeholder management.

Skills Preferred:

Considerable experience with federal project management, and federal consulting or federal project management experience.

Demonstrated experience identifying and addressing client needs: actively participating in client discussions and meetings; communicating a broad range of Firm services; managing engagements including preparing concise, accurate documents and balancing project economics management with the occurrence of unanticipated issues.

Demonstrated experience as a team leader: creating a positive environment by monitoring workloads of the team while meeting client expectations and respecting the work-life quality of team members; providing candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manner; and keeping leadership informed of progress and issues.

Minimum Years of Experience Necessary:

Minimum Degree(s) and Certification(s) Required:

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree required. degree. Graduate level degree preferred.

Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Six Sigma certifications preferred.


Responsibilities include the following:
- Assist clinets with improving revenue cycle operations through technology and process improvement
>Evaluation, process redesign and implementation of health care business office functions, including admissions/registration, billing, collections and denials management
>Manage large, multi-phased engagements that may include both PwC staff and client members
>Responsible for quality of client deliverables and quality of the work that the PwC team is delivering
>Perform client interviews and provide direct client support at the senior management level
>Analyze client issues and develop potential solutions that can be implemented by the PwC team
>Develop findings and recommendations for reports and presentations
>Contribute to the knowledge base of the operations practice by development of marketing (product) tools, standard workplans, engagement tools, etc.

Job Requirements:

Candidate must possess 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a consulting environment, as well as:
-In-depth experience to include provider revenue cycle, payer relations/negociations and/or EDI transaction sets
-Strong leadership skills coupled with good communication skills
-Strong understanding of project management and project facilitiation
-Excellent written and oral presentation skills
-Outstanding analytic skills
-Demonstrated ability to build relationships
-US Citizenship required

In addition to meeting PwC eligibility requirements, applicants will be required to be eligible for government security clearance.
